Summer Style - Chic Warm Weather Outfit

Summer is almost here and I'm eagerly anticipating my favorite season. Unfortunately it's all too fleeting here in Canada so I soak up as many hot days and sunny skies as I can and embrace all things summer. This includes a wardrobe refresh and turning to easy, warm weather outfits that exude a minimalist low-key style. Whether it's patio drinks with friends or a family barbecue, the outfit I've curated below is ideal for the lazy, hazy days of summer.

Summer Style

White Sundress

Nothing captures the essence of summer better than a classic white sundress. It's a timeless piece that has a wonderful carefree vibe but it's also a practical choice as the color and lightweight fabric help keep you cool on scorching days. I love everything about this dress from The Loft. It's made of 100% cotton with stylish dolman sleeves, it has a flowy midi-length and I think the fitted waist would be flattering on all body types.

Everyday Hoops

Hoop earrings are always on trend and should be a summer staple in my humble opinion! A pair of everyday hoops are the perfect go-to accessory for complementing your summer style. The thick gold-filled hoops pictured are lightweight and comfortable and I think they'd be a fabulous addition to any look.

Sun Hat

A wide-brimmed sun hat does double duty by adding a touch of glamour to your outfit and by protecting you from the sun's rays. (Especially important if you're ridiculously pale like me!) A floppy straw hat is the ideal finishing touch to an outfit regardless of where your summer adventures take you. This one from Old Navy is a classic at a really affordable price.

Sandal Slides

When it comes to summer footwear nothings beats the comfort and style of sandal slides. They're so easy to wear and style and the open design not only looks good but also lets your feet breathe on hot, humid days. Slides come in a vast array of colors and materials so you'll definitely find a pair that suits your personal style. The rich brown shade of these ones from Sam Edelman is so versatile and the criss cross pattern works with both casual and dressy outfits.

Sunglasses

Of course you can't forget the sunglasses! I always like to buy a few affordable pairs at the beginning of summer so I have options to choose from when I'm running out the door. Whether you're drawn to classic aviators or oversized shades there's no shortage of styles when shopping for a pair. These tortoise shell ones from H&M recently caught my eye - I really like the geometric shape and at just $15 the price is certainly right.

Straw Bag

You're going to need something to carry all your summer essentials in so this is when you reach for a big straw tote. The natural material is lightweight and gives off a casual bohemian vibe that's ideal for summer. This roomy bag from All Saints can easily transition from casual to dressy due to luxe details like leather trim and twill lining.
