With Mother’s Day right around the corner I thought I’d share some of my gift ideas for this year. Like many of you (especially fellow Ontarians) I won’t be getting together with Mom but I think it would be a sweet surprise for her to get some fun mail for a change! One of my first places to look for gifts is Etsy so I’ve included some of my favorites here and a few picks from fellow Canadian sellers.
A beautiful photo locket is such a thoughtful gift and the one pictured is made by my long-time Etsy friend Lauren of Lauren Blythe Designs. You can personalize the necklace with photos and initials for a really special one-of-a-kind keepsake. You can browse all her photo lockets here.
Another talented friend of mine is Brooke from reSeed ceramics who made the spice bowls featured. She is an extremely talented artist and a sweetheart to boot! The cutting board is another Etsy find. I love the presentation and that you can personalize it - I’m all for gifts that are practical and useful and look this good! :) You can find it here.
There may not be a family brunch this year but you can send Mom all the ingredients for a delicious breakfast at home. This gift from Simon's includes a strawberry and basil spread, a bag of whole bean coffee, some pancake mix, and one Sunday morning crossword. Such a fun idea.

My Mom’s a bookworm and though she reads a lot on her iPad she will still go old-school with books from the library so these lovely bookmarks are perfect. They're from AllyBethDesignCo on Etsy and she has a beautiful store filled with stylish home décor and personalized items.
I’ve included a diffuser from Saje on my list because the sleek minimalist design of the one pictured ensures it will look good in any room and the sweet scents are a bonus!
