It's always with sadness that I say good-bye to summer. I have nothing against fall it's just that it always leads to winter! I'm getting ahead of myself though and should focus on all the wonderful things about autumn like pretty fall foliage, play off baseball and fun new trends in fashion and accessories. Below are some of my favorites for 2022.
Designs that sparkle and shine were all over the runways and the trend is popping up in clothing and accessories adorned with sequins and metallic accents. This shimmery dress from H & M is right on trend and it's definitely holiday-party ready.
The popularity of pearls is still growing strong and hoops are having a resurgence (though they're always a staple for me!). I've paired them for a modern accessory that I think works well with both casual and dressy outfits.
I'm a sucker for a trendy boot that looks chic without a four-inch heel! Enter these fabulous over-the-knee boots from Steve Madden.
I don't think many people could have predicted that a casual closet staple would rule the runways but a go-to white tank adorned many a model. Mine could use an upgrade so I've had my eye on this one from Banana Republic.
Handbags with a check/plaid motif incorporate a couple of trends this season with a subtle nod to both the collegiate and equestrian look. Anine Bing's elegant houndstooth bag is on my wish list.
And lastly leather is everywhere! Buy a statement piece like a leather trench or sport head to toe leather if you're feeling particularly adventurous. I think I'd opt for a maxi (another trend!) skirt like the one pictured from Free People. I love the longer length and it looks like a versatile piece that can be dressed up or down.
